When Buyers Ask AI Who to Trust, Does Your Brand Appear?

Buyers now ask AI systems to shortlist vendors and check credibility. If your brand doesn't surface in those answers, you are invisible at the moment of intent.
1. AI has become a second layer of search
Buyers don''t just "Google and click" anymore. They ask AI systems to:
- shortlist vendors,
- check who is credible in a category,
- compare options and ask "who should I talk to first."
If your brand doesn''t appear in those answers, you are invisible where it matters most: at the moment of intent.
2. Why many B2B sites are almost invisible to AI
When I scan B2B and industrial sites, I see the same patterns:
- Content is written only for traditional SEO (keywords, meta descriptions) rather than for LLMs that need context, entities and structure.
- Product and solution pages use vague messaging. The AI cannot reliably tell "what is this company known for?" or "which problems does this product solve?"
- There is little or no structured data (JSON-LD, schema.org), which means pages are harder to parse, classify and cite.
From an AI''s point of view, these sites are noisy and unclear.
3. Three practical fixes any team can implement
You don''t need to rebuild your entire website to improve AI visibility. Start with three foundations:
-
Entity clarity. Make it easy to answer:
- Who is this company?
- What products and services does it offer?
- In which markets and industries?
Use clear headings, concise summaries, and consistent naming.
-
Structured data. Implement JSON-LD and schema.org for key pages (Organization, WebPage, Product, Article, VideoObject, FAQ). This makes content machine-legible and dramatically improves how AI systems "see" your site.
-
Extractable content. AI systems extract and recombine text. Help them by using:
- clear sections and headings,
- concise summaries,
- transcripts or detailed descriptions for videos and webinars.
4. How GEO helps you see the problem
At Egnite Group, I built a GEO scanner that:
- audits your pages for AI discoverability,
- scores visibility across core dimensions,
- shows where structured data and clarity are missing,
- and highlights the most impactful fixes.
Instead of guessing, you get a tangible view of "how visible is my brand when buyers ask AI who to trust?"
5. One simple next step
Pick a single strategic page — your main product page, a key solution page, or your "why us" page — and ask:
- Is it clear enough that an AI system could explain what we do?
- Is it structured enough that it can be cited confidently?
- Do we give it the signals it needs to trust and recommend us?
If you want help answering those questions, you can reach out and I''ll run an initial GEO scan so you can see where you stand today — and what to fix first.
